ABS - Small Area Dwelling Completions (SA2) Q1 2016 - Q4 2019

This dataset presents experimental estimates of dwellings completed from the March 2016 quarter to the December 2019 quarter, by Statistical Area Level 2 (SA2) boundaries from the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS), 2016 Edition.

These experimental estimates use SA2 level approvals from the Building Approvals collection to model the state level Building Activity Survey (BACS) estimates of dwellings completed down to SA2 level. For building approvals selected in the BACS sample, data is collected quarterly from builders and other individuals engaged in building activity until the building job reaches completion or is abandoned.

For more information please visit the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Explanatory Notes. The data has been sourced from the October 2020 release.

AURIN has spatially enabled the original data from the ABS and has reshaped the data to represent building types along columns instead of rows.
