PSMA Localities (August 2017)

The Administrative Boundaries for Australia, an ISO 19131 compliant description, provides an optimised quality geometric description and a set of basic attributes of the Australian administrative boundaries. Administrative Boundaries data will be revised on a regular basis. Geographic Polygon Data Files based on GDA94 are produced from varying format data provided from the jurisdictions. The locality entity is one of the primary entities as many other datasets refer to localities. Gazetted localities will have one or many polygons defining their boundary. A locality may also have many alias names recorded against it. The digital Suburb Locality boundaries and their legal identifiers have been derived from the cadastre data from each Australian state and territory jurisdiction.
