PSMA - Transport & Topography - Railway (Line) August 2020

This layer presents the footprint of the Railway line network, including light rail across Australia. The data is from the August 2020 release of Transport and Topography.

The Transport and Topography dataset is comprised of three themes: Transport, Hydrology and Greenspace. The Transport and Topography dataset is used as a basis for the Geocoded National Address File (G-NAF) dataset provided by PSMA Australia. The dataset incorporates state boundaries and localities derived from the Administrative Boundaries dataset. The common geometric base allows users to apply the spatial data to the full extent of coverage.

Transport and Topography is designed to meet the needs of organisations that require a graphical representation of locations of the transport networks (roads, rail and airports), waterways (farm dams through to major rivers and oceans), and green spaces (local laying fields and parks, through to state and national parks) to integrate with other data in servicing their business needs.

AURIN has merged the State/Territory based shapefiles into a national dataset, and has joined attributes from complementary textual attribute tables.
