PSMA - Transport & Topography - Street Network (Line) August 2006

This layer presents the footprint of the street network at all levels within Australia, including everything from major highways to walking paths. The data is from the August 2006 release of Transport and Topography.

The Roads Layer of PSMA Australia’s National Transport Theme provides a basic seamless representation of the national road network using standardised road classifications. The national road dataset includes Jurisdiction persistent record identifiers (PIDs) and record creation dates in support of these the incremental update mechanisms.

Note: On 1 October 2020, PSMA Australia Limited began trading as Geoscape Australia.

AURIN has merged the State/Territory based shapefiles into a national dataset, joined attributes from complementary textual attribute tables, and has normalised the street name, street type, and street suffix into a full street name attribute.
