Description

Total number of registered dogs and cats in South Australia in 2019 and 2020.

Dog and Cat Management Board (DCMB) have provided the total number of registered dogs and cats as of 30-Jun-19 and 25-May-20. Suburb and Local Government level data (i.e. total number of registered dogs in each suburb, total number of registered cats in each suburb, etc). DCMB have provided the total number of registered dogs and cats per council and per suburb.

Please note:

  • 'Registered' means the dog has been registered as per Part 4 of the Dog and Cat Management Act 1995 and cat records have been checked and completed by the owner (with a registration fee if required by Council by-law).

  • Totals do not include deceased animals (animals that were registered in a financial year, and updated to deceased in the same financial year).

  • Totals do not include unrenewed or unregistered animals.

The Adelaide Data Hub joined this data to the 2019 SA Suburb boundaries from Data SA.
