The Public Transport usage dataset represents total onboard validations (banded) by date, mode, route, direction, stop and media type for each quarter.
Included Fields:
- Date of validation
- Media Type: Metrocard, Ticket, Other (eg free boardings for special events)
- Mode of Transport: 1=Bus, 4=Tram, 5=Train, 8=Bike Cages, 11=Carpark/DRT
- Route ID, eg H20
- Trip Direction: A value that indicates the direction of travel for a trip and can be used to distinguish between bi-directional trips with the same Route ID. 0=unknown, 1 and 2 represent direction. For trips that terminate in the City 1= Towards City and 2=Away from City.
- GTFS stop-id: Unique ID for every bus and tram stop and train station.
- Stop description
- Band for the Number of boardings: 1-9, 10-19, 20-29 etc. Eg if the actual number of boardings is 18 then the band will be 10-19.
- Band Floor: the lowest number in the band. Eg if the band is 10-19 the Floor is 10.
